The corrugated surface on the RC sconce is what sets it apart from our smoother resin pieces, a series of shallow ridges radiating out from the center that catch light unevenly and throw faint shadow lines across the wall or ceiling it's mounted to. That texture is deliberate: it's the wabi-sabi philosophy applied to a manufactured material, taking a resin surface and giving it the kind of irregular, tactile quality you'd normally only find in hand-thrown ceramics or naturally weathered stone. Mounted as a wall sconce, the ridges cast a soft rippling pattern outward; mounted flush to the ceiling, the same texture reads more like a stylized sunburst overhead. It comes in four diameters, from a compact 7.9-inch version for a hallway or stairwell up to a 19.7-inch size substantial enough to serve as a room's main overhead fixture. Because the corrugation diffuses light so effectively, the RC sconce tends to avoid harsh glare even at its higher wattage settings, making it a reasonable choice for a room where you actually need functional light rather than pure ambiance. Because the ridges run the full width of the shade rather than stopping partway, the shadow pattern stays consistent regardless of which direction the fixture faces once installed, so orientation during mounting is largely a non-issue.
Like our other wabi-sabi resin pieces, the RC sconce is molded from high-density polyethylene, chosen for its durability, light weight, and resistance to humidity, all of which make it easy to install and low-maintenance over years of daily use. The four sizes, 7.9, 10.6, 13.8, and 19.7 inches across, share a consistent 5.91-inch height and use a small glass light-source cover at the center, either 2.4 inches for the two smaller sizes or 3.15 inches for the two larger ones, which houses a G4-style LED bulb rated up to 40 watts on AC power between 110 and 240 volts. Installation offers real flexibility here: a fully hardwired option, a plug-in version with an inline on-off switch on a 6-foot cord, or a plug-in version with a foot-operated switch on a 16-foot cord that includes three metal wire clips for routing the cable cleanly along a wall or ceiling line. That range of install methods makes the RC sconce workable whether you're wiring new construction or retrofitting an existing room. Both plug-in variants also include the same three metal wire clips for cable management, which keeps a run of cord from hanging loose along a wall or ceiling regardless of which switch style you end up choosing for the installation.
At Monvera Space, we like recommending the RC sconce to anyone drawn to the wabi-sabi resin aesthetic but who wants a fixture that can handle a bit more brightness than our smaller bowl and cake-shaped pieces. Its 40-watt capacity puts real light output behind that textured, handmade-looking surface, so it works as well over a stairwell landing that needs genuine illumination as it does as a purely decorative wall accent in a dim corner. Try the largest size as a flush-mount ceiling fixture in an entryway, where the corrugated ridges catch ambient daylight as well as the bulb's glow, or use a pair of the smaller sizes as bedside wall sconces to free up nightstand space entirely. Because the ridged surface is part of the design language, dust it occasionally with a soft brush rather than a wet cloth to keep the texture crisp, and expect the resin's matte finish to look slightly different under warm versus cool bulb temperatures, so choose your LED accordingly. Consider mixing sizes within one hallway run, larger near the base of a stairwell and smaller as you move up toward a landing, to give the corrugated texture a sense of visual progression rather than flat repetition.
