Etou Semi-Sphere takes the dome shape literally, a shallow half-sphere of resin hanging flat side up so the bulb's light bounces off its interior curve before spilling out around the wide rim. That indirect path gives the light a gentler quality than a fixture that exposes the bulb directly, since by the time it reaches the room it's already been softened and spread by the resin's slightly uneven, hand-finished surface. At 13.4 inches across but only 6.3 inches deep, the shape reads as low and wide rather than pendant-like in the traditional dangling sense, which makes it a good fit for rooms with limited ceiling height where a deeper shade would eat up too much headroom. It works particularly well over a dining table or kitchen island, where its broad, shallow profile spreads light evenly across the surface below without the visual bulk of a taller fixture hanging in the eyeline of anyone standing at the counter or seated at the table.
