pg-egg-bauhaus-pendant
PG EGG Bauhaus Pendant

The PG EGG takes its cues from early twentieth century Bauhaus design, where form followed function and a light fixture was allowed to be its own confident, geometric object rather than an afterthought bolted to the ceiling. Its rounded, egg-like dome is finished in a high-gloss paint over aluminum, giving it a reflective, almost lacquered surface that reads as bold and architectural at nearly 18 inches across. Switched on, an E27 bulb fills the shallow interior of the dome and throws a wide, even wash of light both downward and outward, the glossy finish helping bounce ambient light back into the room even when you're not looking directly up into the fixture. It's a pendant built to be a focal point rather than to disappear, well suited to a dining table where its scale and symmetry can be appreciated from every seat, or centered above a kitchen island where its confident shape stands out against simpler surrounding cabinetry. The Bauhaus reference isn't just marketing language here either, the clean geometry, the total absence of applied ornament, and the reliance on the shape and finish alone to do the visual work are genuinely in that design tradition, which makes this a fixture with real lineage behind its look rather than a trend-chasing shape.

Built from aluminum for a lightweight but rigid structure, the dome is finished in a high-gloss lacquer paint that's the defining visual feature of the piece, distinct from the more common matte or brushed metal pendants. It's rated for a wide voltage range of 110 to 240 volts and takes a standard E27 LED bulb up to 30 watts, so you control the exact color temperature and brightness rather than being locked into a factory-set built-in light source. At 17.72 inches in diameter and 6.3 inches tall, the proportions are wide and shallow, similar in spirit to the smaller Smithfield S but scaled up for a more substantial presence over a larger table or in a taller room. The cord runs 70.87 inches, close to 1.8 meters, and is fully adjustable, letting you dial in the exact drop height for your ceiling and table combination. Installation is a standard hardwired ceiling mount, and because the aluminum shell keeps the fixture lighter than its visual scale suggests, mounting is manageable for a typical residential ceiling without needing reinforced hardware, though a second pair of hands during installation makes leveling a fixture this wide considerably easier, especially when hanging it dead-center above a large table.

We stock the PG EGG at Monvera Space for anyone building a room around genuine design reference points rather than passing trends. Its glossy, geometric form pairs naturally with mid-century or Bauhaus-influenced furniture, but the clean shape and confident finish are versatile enough to anchor a more contemporary dining room or kitchen too. Hang it as a single, centered fixture over a round or rectangular dining table where its scale can be the clear visual anchor of the room, or use it as a bold kitchen island light paired with simpler pendant company nearby to avoid visual competition. The high-gloss finish means it does pick up fingerprints and dust more readily than a matte fixture, so plan for an occasional soft-cloth wipe to keep that reflective surface looking its best, particularly if it's hung within easy reach in a kitchen setting. Consider the color of the gloss finish against your existing palette: a bold dome like this works best when the rest of the room's colors and materials stay relatively calm, letting the fixture itself carry the visual energy. It's a piece with real design history behind it, and it holds up to being the star of the room, year after year, without ever feeling dated.

Max output: 30W

Voltage: 110-240V

Diameter: 17.72" (45 cm), Height: 6.3" (16 cm)

Cord length: 70.87" (1.8m), adjustable

Bulb: LED E27 (not included)

Materials: high gloss paint finish, aluminum

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0841/6316/6452/files/hf_20260812_042528_d1d870b7-ad34-4c53-ba15-34a79e5617b7.png?v=1786509199
